Wedding Planner Designs Her Own Eco-Friendly Wedding
Featured in People
From the moment we arrived at the Cheeca Lodge & Pierre’s Lounge in Islamorada, we knew this was going to be a wedding unlike any other. The attention to detail, the eco-conscious choices, and the sheer joy radiating from everyone present created an atmosphere of pure magic.
Our dear friend, Kristen Gosselin, who is an esteemed colleague in the wedding planning industry, recently tied the knot in a celebration that beautifully blended luxury with sustainability. Featured in People Magazine.
“My dream was to highlight the beauty of the landscape by selecting a venue that needed nothing more than nature.”
Based in Martha’s Vineyard, Kristen has planned weddings for some of the most influential names, and she brought that same clear vision to her own celebration. She wanted her guests to feel transported the moment they arrived, stepping into a luxurious island escape that reflected the natural beauty of Islamorada. When she discovered Morada Bay, she knew it was the place. The turquoise waters, open sky, and full moon created the perfect backdrop for a weekend that was as effortless as it was elegant. Kristen’s goal was simple. She wanted the landscape to shine rather than be covered up, and the atmosphere to set the tone.
When it came to their wedding film, they wanted it to feel just as natural and easygoing as the weekend itself. Isabelle told me she was less interested in the perfectly posed shots and more drawn to the real, unplanned moments. The laughter, the hugs, the way the sun hit the water in the late afternoon. They wanted the little in-between moments that told the true story of their celebration. So we focused on capturing guests soaking up the island sunshine, conversations on the dock, and all the details that made the setting so special. In the end, it was a weekend that felt effortless, joyful, and completely them.
Palm Trees and Moonlight Nights
The beach at Cheeca Lodge became the gathering place where cocktails were served under the crescent moon. The welcome party was a space designed for everyone to unwind, connect, and begin the festivities in a way that felt effortless and true to the island setting.
