We know that each wedding video company calls things differently. The question what is a Highlight Film and Feature Film wedding video is asked so frequently, certainly breaking it down should be helpful. We have broken down each film and the differences of what we mean by each film edit. Be sure to watch the example films for further clarity.
The difference lies in the length of the film and and how much is included in each film.
The most noteworthy; The Highlight Film
A jammed packed emotional wedding video, about 2-3 minutes in length. This is a creative edit and very cinematic with strong storytelling elements. Not all moments are included, but the ones that are, are sure to make you laugh, cry and want to re-watch immediately.
Who is this good for?
Great for watching over and over on repeat, and sharing online for family and friends. Visit our portfolio page to watch highlight films.
There are two types of feature films
Traditional vs Modern
The Feature Film: First is the original or “traditional” Feature Film that includes ceremony and reception formal events and all the things in between. It usually runs 40-60 minutes long. Those numbers are just an estimate because the Feature Film is fully customized to your wedding day. Because it’s custom, we do not focus on length and make sure all of the usable footage is included.
Who is this good for:
Great for couples who want to watch every second of their wedding day. Pop some popcorn, snuggle in and make it a movie night. Click play, and watch your wedding film from start to finish including the full ceremony and all toasts, just as they happened.
The Modern Feature Film: It’s a short film and runs about 20 minutes long. This has a much more cinematic film that is more like an extended highlight film. Don’t worry, included in the final delivery is the ceremony edit and toasts in a separate section.
Who is this good for?
Great for couples who want to watch a movie like version of their wedding day. This film covers the best parts of the day telling your wedding story, from your getting ready, the ceremony, and the crazy party- not each second, but rather, all the key moments of the day. See what I did there?
